Take a trip through New York with Kong loose in the street.
This was filmed in 1993 at Universal Studios Florida, early enough that Kongfrontation still felt new. You board an aerial tram that’s supposed to evacuate you through a city Kong is tearing apart.
The tram moves through burning streets, emergency scenes, and a couple of very large meetings with Kong. It’s a good look at one of the original park’s most ambitious rides — the kind they don’t build anymore.
ABOUT THE FOOTAGE
Three years after Universal Studios Florida opened, most of those first attractions were still standing, and this one still looked like they meant it: big New York sets, hanging trams, practical effects.
Kongfrontation is gone. This is the closest thing to getting back on the tram.
